How it started.

Two torn ACLs and a couch with too much time on it.

Tearing an ACL once is brutal. Twice before twenty changes the shape of your life.

When competitive surfing suddenly came off the table, the calendar cleared. I started pulling apart how digital businesses worked, what made them run, and where useful software could remove friction.

What began as a way to keep moving became a genuine obsession with building systems that make real work easier.

The turning point.

The second injury made it non-negotiable.

Three months after returning to competition—and after winning again—I tore the other ACL. This time, I faced another year out.

The pressure was real: I needed to build something useful and make it work. AI was entering a pivotal phase, and I became completely immersed in what it could make possible.

What actually happened next.

The tools mattered less than the result.

The interesting part was never the tool itself. It was watching an automation remove hours of repeated work or seeing a system make a difficult operation easier to run.

Méllon grew around that standard: build useful systems, test them in the conditions where they will be used, and stay accountable when real business depends on them.

That hands-on approach still shapes every project—from discovery and architecture through testing, launch, and handover.

Today

Still competing. Fully committed.

Surfing remains a serious pursuit, and the discipline carries directly into the work: prepare properly, execute carefully, and keep improving against evidence.

Méllon runs as a professional software operation, with version control, separate test environments, documented handover, monitoring, and clear client ownership built into delivery.
